PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring overcast skies and scattered rain showers over most parts of the country.
On Monday (August 15, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bataan, and Zambales.
The habagat and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, Aurora, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino at Nueva Vizcaya.
The remaining parts of the country will experience similar weather condition.
“Dahil sa habagat, ngayong araw, inaasahan po natin ang maulap ang kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa Metro Manila, ganoon din sa Mimaropa (Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon), Calabarzon (Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal), Bicol region, Bataan, at Zambales,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
Other parts of the country is expected to encounter fair weather with chances of isolated rains.
The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected area to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
