Leni Robredo has this message to the people behind ‘Katips’
Former Vice President Leni Robredo congratulated the cast and crew of the movie Katips for this is a “wonderful piece.”
Robredo has continued her public service projects despite her political career ending in the last elections. She established her non-government organization Angat Buhay and her supporters have been rallying her back in her charitable endeavors.
It is known to many that Robredo was the prominent opponent of President Bongbong Marcos whose family’s experience was the focus of the movie Maid in Malacañang. On the other hand, the movie Katips tackles the experiences that protesters had while criticizing the Marcos regime.
In a video posted on the Philippine Stagers Foundation’s Facebook Page, Leni Robredo shared her message to the people behind the movie Katips by director Vince Tañada. “Hello sa lahat ng mga bumubuo ng Katips. Congratulation sa inyo for this wonderful piece,” she said.
The former Vice President also said that the movie brings an important message to the public, especially during the time when attempts to alter history are being made. “Marami sa ating mga kababayan ang napapaniwala sa kasinungalingan,” she added.
Robredo also stressed that this movie is proof that “art is integral in the way we shape the world.” “Patuloy lang sa paglikha, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat,” the former Vice President said. Direk Vince shared this video on his Facebook Page and encouraged everyone to watch his movie.
Meanwhile, Direk Vince Tañada was challenged by Direk Darryl Yap to show the real number of his movie’s gross. It is because the Katips director joked about the movie’s earnings which reached P41.8 million on its opening day. Direk Darryl also said that Direk Vince should show proof supporting their belief that their movie has P198 million gross as of the recent posting.
