PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (August 5, 2022)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that habagat and a low-pressure area will bring overcast skies with rains over some parts of the country.
On Friday (August 5, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon and low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted 200 km Northwest of Legazpi City, Albay. The combined effects of LPA and habagat will bring rainy weather conditions over most parts of the archipelago.
“Yung low pressure area po, at yung southwest monsoon, yung po yung mga weather system na nagdadala ng ulan sa ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.
The LPA will bring cloudy condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Cagayan, Bicol region, the entire Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula.
The southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
“Nakikita po natin na especially sa Visayas area, as well as sa Central Luzon, ito yung mga lugar kung saan nakakaranas na ng moderate to heavy at kung minsan may intense na pag-ulan,” Bulquerin added.
PAGASA also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
