PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (July 1)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported Tropical Depression Domeng slightly intensified and it is expected to bring rainy weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Friday (July 1, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Domeng will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Domeng has been last spotted 950 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Domeng is expected to gradually accelerate north-northwestward within the next three days but will remain far from Philippine landmass. The tropical cyclone is expected to leave the Philippine area responsibility on Saturday (July 2).

“On the forecast track, ‘Domeng’ may exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday morning or afternoon. Outside the PAR region, the tropical cyclone is forecast to pass very close or make landfall in the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands on Saturday afternoon or evening,” Pagasa said.

Tropical Depression Domeng and Tropical Storm Caloy enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring occasionally gusty conditions over extreme northern Luzon, the northern and western portions of Luzon, and the western portion of Visayas.

The enhanced habagat will also bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CALABARZON, Western Visayas, and the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA.

The weather agency has also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash flodos and landslides due to scattered to widespread moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and western sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
