PAGASA Says LPA To Bring Cloudy to Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low pressure area will bring overcast skies and scattered rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (June 27, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 70 km North Northwest of Virac, Catanduanes or 100 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte.

The LPA is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Quirino. Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Isabela, and Aurora.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet.

“Ngayong araw, dahil sa LPA, malaking bahagi ng ating bansa ay inaasahan natin na may mga pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms, according to the weather agency.

“Dahil sa LPA, ang buong Kabisayaan, inaasahan natin ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms,” Aurelio added.

Generally fair weather condition is expected over the remaining parts of the country but isolated rain showers are expected in the afternoon to evening due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to modertate.
