PAGASA Says ITCZ & Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Friday (June 17, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao. It would bring overcast skies and scattered rain. The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN.

The Easteries/localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

“Dito sa Luzon and Visayas, pinagsamang init at mga saglit na ulan pa rin ang mararanasan dulot ng easterlies at localized thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
