PAGASA Says ITCZ Will Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over some parts of the country.

On Friday (June 10, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan including Kalayaan Group of Islands.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected area to take precautionary measures for possible floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said that there is no tropical depression being monitored within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility. However, the ITCZ may also trigger the formation of cloud clusters, circulations and possibly, a low pressure area.

PAGASA said that the rest of the country will have a generally fair weather except for isolated rain showers. “Sa natitirang bahagi ng ating bansa, generally mainit at mayroong mga pag-ulan lalo na sa hapon hanggang sa gabi na mararanasan pa rin,” Estareja said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme northern Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
