Police Arrests Taxi Driver After Touching Private Part of Minor Passenger Heading to Moving Up Ceremony
MANILA – A taxi driver has been arrested after touching the private part of a minor female passenger in Quezon City.
A 16-year-old lady takes a taxi ride to attend her Moving Up Ceremony. The taxi currently traveling along Commonwealth Avenue when the driver suddenly stopped and asked for a selfie from his female passenger.
The suspect touched the victim’s legs, shoulders, and other private parts. The lady passenger remains courageous and heads to her point of destination. She told the driver to wait for a little bit.
The student immediately reported the incident to the event moderator who quickly sought help from the police authorities. The cops immediately responded and arrested the taxi driver for his lascivious act. The young woman sits in the front seat.
QCPD PS-6 deputy commander Pol. Maj. Kenneth Louie Leaño advised the parents not to let female teenagers ride taxis alone. He also advised lady commuters to sit in the back seat to avoid similar incidents.
“Lalong lalo na minor yung babae huwag nila hahayaan na mag-isang sasakay sa public transport, lano’t na bata 16 years old lang siya, Hanggat maaari, ‘pag sumakay ng taxi, dun sila sa bandang likod para ‘di sila abot ng taxi driver,” Leaño said.
Unfortunately, the suspect denied the accusations against him. However, the lady victim has photos to prove her claims.
The victim’s parents will file charges against the taxi driver. The suspect has two sons and a daughter.
