PAGASA Says LPA & ITCZ to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and ITCZ will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Friday (May 13, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and ITCZ will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 220 km East of Davao City. It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) , which will be affecting Mindanao.

The LPA / ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao and eastern Visayas. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The rest of Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition due to Easterlies/localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
