PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (May 9)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that hot weather condition is expected over Luzon and Visayas while cloudy skies with rainshowers are expected in Mindanao during Election Day.

On Monday (May 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the easterlies will be affecting Luzon and the rest of the country while the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting Mindanao. Cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao.

“Dahil sa epekto ng ITCZ, ang buong Mindanao ay makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The Easterlies/Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition. Luzon and Visayas will experience a hot and fair weather with possible isolated rains.

“Ngayong araw, araw ng Lunes, asahan po ang maganda at maaliwalas na panahon sa buong Luzon. Asahan din ang matinding sikat ng araw, lalong-lalo na po sa pagitan ng alas-10 ng umaga hanggang alas-4 ng hapon,” Aurelio added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and Visayas as well as Mindanao will be slight to moderate.
