5 Vehicles Apprehended by Aurora Town Residents Over Alleged Involvement in Vote-Buying Insidents
The Aurora town residents have apprehended five vehicles that allegedly contain evidence of vote-buying in the area.
Five vehicles were stuck in San Luis, Aurora for two days after the residents apprehended them. The citizens believe that the passengers inside the vehicles were involved in vote-buying incidents.
The town residents also believe that the vehicles contain pieces of evidence. The citizens install barricades surrounding the vehicles on May 9, 2022 (Monday) during Election Day.
According to the police authorities and residents, the passengers were government employees. Four individuals have been arrested before the Election Day over illegal possession of firearms.
The residents were strictly monitoring the vehicle passengers and did not allow them to leave. One of them has been rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness due to fatigue, sleeplessness, and humid weather condition.
“Nakikita naming na walang na umiikot ditto sa bayan ng San Luis, Sinubaybayan naming, ‘yan pala ay mga kuwan ng kandidato na nagbabayad sila rito sa…six days before ngayon (May 9), na kuwan na naming lahat ng lugar ay pinapasok nila kasama yang mga sasakyan na iyan,” a resident said.
One of the vehicles was opened and firearms with ammunition have been discovered. The authorities are still waiting for an arrest warrant before opening the remaining vehicles.
The villagers explained that they are willing to release the passengers if they will show the content of the vehicles. The passengers have yet to release a statement regarding the accusations.
