Darryl Yap explained his “ari-arian”
Director/writer Darryl Yap, the creative mind behind Vincentiments’s viral videos, reacted to the allegation that he received P50 million from the Marcos family.
Darryl is a vocal supporter of one of the most influential and popular political clans in the Philippines. For the 2022 elections, the controversial director created political satire videos that captured the attention of many netizens.
Amid the success of his projects on social media, it was alleged that he received a whopping amount from his bosses. In a recent Facebook post of Darryl Yap, he shared a screenshot of a netizen’s post claiming that Marcos has given him P50 million for the videos he made and for being an “attack dog”.
The director-writer refuted this and explained the cars and properties that he owns. He said that he was able to buy these things because of his projects with Viva Films and he is thankful to the bosses of the entertainment company for the opportunities.
“Naipatayo ko po ang bahay ng parents ko, year 2020, Mazda CX9 (2019) ang Ford Raptor (2020) FJ Cruiser (2021) at SM Light Condo—lahat po yan ay ipinagpapasalamat ko sa Viva Films at sa mga Del Rosario, dumaan po yan sa aming kumpanya at lahat ay pinagtrabahuhan ko, mula sa libro, ads, films at social media,” Darryl explained.
He also said that the Mezza condo does not belong to him. The director-writer also shared that he sold all his cars in order to buy the dream car of his parents. “Nagpalit din ako ng sasakyan for security purposes—kasi alam kong magiging mainit ang kampanyang ito,” he added.
With this kind of allegation, Darryl Yap said that it somehow made him feel a bit irritated with amusement because the critics are attacking him personally as they can’t beat the content that they are creating. Included in his posts are links as his “resibo” showing that he was able to buy the cars years ago.
