Tito Sotto Willing To Have Talks w/ Other VP Bets To Beat Sara Duterte

Are other VP aspirants, like Tito Sotto, threatened by Sara Duterte’s survey standing?

Senate President Tito Sotto said that he is willing to have dialogues with other vice-presidential candidates to defeat Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The presidential daughter has been consistent in vice-presidential surveys. In almost all pre-election surveys, she is leading. In a recent Pulse Asia survey, she got 63 percent while Sotto only had 24 percent.

In a report from GMA News Online, the running mate of Senator Ping Lacson said that he is open to talks that would unite other vice-presidential candidates to fight against Mayor Sara.

Sen. Tito Sotto made this statement after vice-presidential candidate Rizalito David suggested that those running for the same position can form a coalition to defeat the Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte tandem.

Siyempre lahat ng klaseng pag-uusap ay bukas kami,” the lawmaker said. He also said that he is entertaining the proposal of his fellow vice-presidential candidate although it was “unethical” for him to comment on that.

The Senate President revealed that there were one or two candidates who said that they wanted him to win if voters will not vote for them. “Mayroong isa or dalawang kandidato na, di ko na sasabihin kung sino, na sinabi sa akin na kung ‘di rin lang daw sila ang iboboto, sana ako daw,” the Senator disclosed.

On the other hand, the lawmaker said that the decision is still on the voters to choose who they want to be their next vice president.

Previously, Vice President Leni Robredo, who is running for president, has stated that she tried to unite the opposition. She said that conversations between her and other presidential candidates happened with the attempt to form a coalition.
