Salvador Panelo dedicated a Sharon Cuneta song for his son
Senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo shared a throwback video showing that in an event in December 2019, he sang the song Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas popularized by Megastar Sharon Cuneta and he dedicated this his son.
The son of Panelo had Down Syndrome and before singing the classic song that was written by the late songwriter Willy Cruz, he shared a story about how it feels to be a parent of a child with special needs.
“I have a child who passed away 2 years ago. A special child. His name is Carlo. He had a Down Syndrome and every parent with a special child always prays to God,” Salvador Panelo said.
He said that it has been a concern of parents like him what will happen if they will pass away prior to their children with special needs. “Sino ang mag-aalaga ng mga special children?” Panelo said adding that it has been his dream to establish a facility that would take care of special children if their parents die.
Just recently, the senatorial candidate sang the same song during the meet-and-greet of vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte with the members of the LGBT community.
However, this did not sit well with Sharon Cuneta. She criticized Panelo for “using” her song for political agenda and without her permission. The senatorial aspirant reacted to this by saying that he got permission from Viva to sing this song. Salvador Panelo also stated that this has been his song for his son Carlo and to prove it, he shared a video that was taken back in 2019.
In his reaction to Sharon Cuneta’s tirade, Salvador Panelo apologized if the Megastar did not like his performance of Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.
