NERI COLMENARES – Senatorial candidate Neri Colmenares refute the rumors saying he got disqualified.
Human rights lawyer and activist Neri Colmenares is among the senatorial aspirants who filed Certificate of Candidacy (COC) last October.
The 59-year-old senatorial candidate finished on the 20th spot on the 2016 senatorial elections.
Despite not being able to penetrate the ‘Magic 12,’ Neri Colmenares is again trying his luck to have a place in the Senate.
Meanwhile, on the Facebook Page of Kabataan Partylist (KPL) Cordillera, they posted regarding the campaign of Colmenares.
Based on the caption, KPL clarified the malicious rumors saying the senatorial candidate got disqualified so that the people won’t vote for him.
Aside from that party lists under MAKABAYAN block including Gabriela, Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, and ACT were also involved. KPL Cordillera coordinator Christian Dave Ruz expressed his reaction on the outrageous claims.
“It is very ridiculous, frustrating, and alarming, that they come to the point of spreading lies that we are disqualified.”
“Spreading fake news is another trick that the current regime seemed to have mastered. And they are using this mechanism to silence the opposition and its critics,” he added.
Neri Colmenares also took to the social media to refute the rumors saying that he is disqualified.
He made an appeal to the COMELEC and gave advice to all the campaigners and voters.
