SHARON CUNETA – Veteran actress Megastar Sharon Cuneta expresses a reaction after seeing a political rival sing one of her iconic songs.
Making rounds online is the video of the senatorial candidate and former presidential legal counsel Sal Panelo singing “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” during a campaign event in Quezon City. This classic and iconic song was famed by Megastar Sharon Cuneta, the wife of vice-presidential aspirant Kiko Pangilinan, a rival.
And after seeing such, the Megastar could not help but sarcastically react to the fact that their rival would sing the song of hers. Yesterday, Sharon’s daughter Kakie Pangilinan retweeted the video and the Megastar has dropped this in the comment section, “WHY?!!! Tell me WHY?!!! I gotta fight for my song’s rights as well as Willy Cruz’s who wrote it! Cannot be. Di dapat sinisira ang isang classic.“
She believed they were not allowed to use the song for their campaign. Kakie attempted to make her put down the phone but she just won’t. She went on with her rants and sarcastic statements because she just can’t simply get over it. Megastar even added that she will only let her songs be used for the tandem of her husband and presidential candidate Leni Robredo.
In a separate post on Instagram, Sharon clarified that her reaction is just because it is a campaign period and they are clearly in different colors. It caused her discomfort thinking that they are singing something from their rival.
She expressed, “On the other hand, maybe I should just thank you for reminding your crowds of Kiko whenever you sing it, whether you do so to mock us or not.”
