PAGASA Says LPA & Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and amihan will bring scattered rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (March 10, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the LPA has been last spotted 465 km West of Zamboanga City or 255 km South Southwest of Puerto Princesa City. The LPA will bring scattered rain showers will prevail over Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao.

“Ito’y nananatili pa ring mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The LPA / Shear Line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao. The amihan will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, rest of MIMAROPA, Aurora, and Quezon.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon, rest of Luzon and the Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will experience slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA also raised a gale warning over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Aurora, northern and eastern coast of Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, northern and eastern coast of Camarines Sur as well as northern and eastern coast of Catanduanes.
