Angelica Jones Speaks Out After Sachzna Laparan Revived Miss Flawless
ANGELICA JONES – Sachzna Laparan’s Miss Flawless revival has sparked an emotional reaction from Angelica Jones, who is known as the song’s original Miss Flawless.
Actress and Laguna Board Member Angelica Jones has opened up about her disappointment toward content creator Sachzna Laparan over the latter’s revival of the song “Miss Flawless,” which Angelica famously popularized.
Angelica shared her side of the story during an interview on the vodcast “Your Honor,” hosted by Chariz Solomon with guest co-host Mikoy Morales. According to the actress and public servant, she was hurt by what she described as a lack of proper communication from Sachzna’s camp regarding the use of the song.
“Actually, nu’ng ako po ang chairman ng Tourism before nung second term ko as board member, I remember, 2019 ayun so ang sabi nila magsu-shoot daw sa Laguna at makikipag-meetup.
“Meetup for shooting na of course ipapaalam muna (pag-revive sa kanta), hindi mo totally sinabi. Ipapaalam parang meron silang idi-discuss.
“Siyempre, board member na ako nu’n, to be honest with you nakaka-offend ‘yun on my part kasi elected official ako and then nag-react ‘yung tourism ng Laguna na ang sabi ay hindi raw tuloy ang shooting, hindi raw tuloy ‘yung pagpunta nila doon,” Angelica explained.
She said she later discovered that the supposed shooting in Laguna still happened, and the revived version of “Miss Flawless” was used for the project.
“Nalaman ko na lang na pumunta sila dun sa fourth district (sa Laguna), nag-shoot at ‘yung kantang ‘Miss Flawless’ (ginamit nila).”
Angelica also recalled a conversation with songwriter Lito Camo, who reportedly asked whether Sachzna’s team had sought permission before using the song.
“And tinanong ako ni Kuya Lito Camo, tanong niya sa akin, ‘Bokal, nagpaalam ba sa sila ‘yo sila?’ Kasi sabi ko bago sila mag-shoot at ilabas ‘yung kantang ‘yan, magpaalam muna sa ‘yo,” said Angelica’s response to the singer-songwriter.
The actress added that she once encountered Sachzna at an event, but the content creator allegedly did not approach her to discuss the matter.
“Wala silang sinasabing ‘hi, hello.’ Pasensya na po or wala. As in walang paalam. Siyempre, kahit naman sino sasama ang loob.
“Pero you know what, lahat ng gawaing mabuti ina-award ni Lord. Ang gawaing masama. naniniwala ako na may balik din yan, ang mahalaga e nandito si original Miss Flawless,” said Angelica.
Chariz, meanwhile, encouraged both sides to possibly settle the issue and suggested that Sachzna may have her own reasons.
“Whatever her reasons are baka may dahilan siya and may chance pa.
“Normal naman ‘yung makakasakit ka, masasaktan ka kasi tao tayong lahat. Hindi natin alam kung ano nangyari behind. Sana ma-workout nila and nag-guest kasi si Sachzna sa atin sa Bubble Gang before.
“So, hindi kami nagkakuwentuhan pero mukha naman siyang she is a good person. Sana lang huwag lang siyang mahiya, ma-intimidate. Baka nahihiya po sa inyo, sana maayos n’yo po.
“I know she will acknowledge na you are the OG Miss Flawless and I hope magka-meet po kayo soon, magkausap,” Chariz explained.
Angelica made it clear that she remains open to resolving the matter if Sachzna reaches out.
“Wala naman problema sa akin puwede namang sabihin sorry, apologize. I will accept the apology kung meron pero as of now wala, eh.”
