Young Man Decides to Change for the Better After Losing P1-M to e-Sabong

A young man named John Robin Manalili who lost almost P1 million to online sabong forgets his vices for his parents.

The 20-year-old businessman from Pampanga named John Robin Manalili lost P1 million due to online sabong. He just started to bet as low as P100 last April to May 2021 but his bet continues to increase.

Manalili lost up to P200, 000 in June 2021 and stopped playing for almost a month but eventually resumed playing to earn more. He continue to play for a couple of months until he lost nearly P1 million.

“Sabi ko parang gusto kong bumawi. ‘Yun iyung naging mindset ko. And naglaro ako nang naglaro hanggang sa natalo rin ako siguro umabot na sa, almost [half a million] na yung natatalo ko, Eto nga yung huli kong laro, last November, na natalo ako ng almost P1 million,” Manalili said.

John owns a motorcycle shop and a tailoring shop but he was forced to close his motor shop after losing a huge amount of cash to gambling. He brought the motorcycle parts to their warehouse and his debts multiplied.

The latter also revealed that he even spend the money of his parents and lied just to bet online. He realized his mistakes to his parents and decided to walk at the right path. He changed for the better.

“Sinabi ko babawi ako, ayoko nang makikita yung mga magulang ko na ganito na nahihirapan, na halos hindi rin alam yung gawin sa pinaggagagawa ko.”  Manalli added.
