Police Arrest Davao Student After Failing to Pay Debt Worth P500k From Online Sabong
DAVAO DE ORO – A Davao student has been arrested after failing to pay his debt worth P561, 000 from online sabong.
Over the past few years, online sabong becomes one of the most popular gambling platforms in the Philippines. It has been based from the tradition gambling game ‘cockfight’ or popularly known as ‘sabong’.
Many people find it more accessible to place their bet at ‘online sabong’ rather than the traditional sabong. A lot of residents are already engaging in online gambling hoping to win a huge amount of cash.
Unfortunately, some players have lost a huge amount of cash after experiencing lose streak during the game. The authorities even consider it as a form of ‘illegal’ gambling.
The police authorities arrested a 19-year-old student in Maco, Davao de Oro after failing to pay his in online sabong. The young man lost his money to gambling and failed to pay the bet money.
Based on the report released by the Maco Municipal Police Station, the supervisor of Bong Fours Isobel Online Gaming Place sought the help of the police authorities to arrest the student who failed to pay its debt.

According to the Maco Police, the student reportedly commit an act of ‘swindling’ or ‘estafa’. The cops are already preparing the necessary documents to file charges against Erick John Somadela Suelto.
