Delivery Rider Loses Cash Collection to Online Sabong & Pretends as Holdup Victim to Hide It

CAMARINES NORTE – A delivery rider pretends as a holdup victim after losing his cash collection to online sabong.

Over the past few years, online sabong becomes one of the most popular gambling platforms in the Philippines. It has been based from the tradition gambling game ‘cockfight’ or popularly known as ‘sabong’.

Many people find it more accessible to place their bet at ‘online sabong’ rather than the traditional sabong. A lot of residents are already engaging in online gambling hoping to win a huge amount of cash.

The police authorities arrested a delivery rider identified as alias “Erick” from Barangay Dos in Mercedes, Camarines Norte. The suspect went to the Paracale Municipal Police Station and pretended as a holdup victim.

The suspect stated that two holdup suspects apprehended him and took his cash collection worth P12, 382, which was supposed to be remitted. However, Paracale MPS noticed that alias Rick is making inconsistent stories.

Eventually, the rider admitted that he just created the holdup incident story and confessed that he lost his cash collection to online sabong. The cops immediately arrested the latter who will face corresponding sanctions and penalties.

Community Affairs and Development Group PLT Col. Rogelyn Peratero reminded the public avoid joining in illegal gambling and quit as early as possible to avoid further troubles in the future.

“Kami po ang kapulisan ay nananawagan na kung maaari na an gating mga kababayan na naiiinvolved sa online sabong kung kayang pigilan ay pigilan nap o kasi kawawa naman an gating pamilya,” Peratero said.
