Liloan Mayor Defends Sara Duterte After Being Called “Duwag” by Walden Bello

Liloan Mayor Cristina Garcia-Frasco has defended vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte after being called by rival Walden Bello “duwag”.

The Mayor of Liloan recently lambasted VP candidate Walden Bello for calling BBM and Sara a coward for skipping the CNN Presidential debate on Sunday. According to Garcia-Frasco, it is up to each candidate’s “discretion” to accommodate debate invitations.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Garia-Frasco stated that Vice Presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio visited 70 cities, towns, provinces, and islands over the course of two months. As early as today, the former mayor is speaking directly to the people, listening to their issues, and providing assistance where it is most needed, establishing herself as an accountable, transparent, and dependable national figure.

Inday Sara has an “amazing work ethic,” according to the mayor, which she is bringing to her campaign. Mayor Sara will leave Davao City debt-free, the 4th most competitive city in the Philippines, and the 7th richest city in the country when she steps down on June 30,” the mayor added.

During Inday Sara’s nearly five-year tenure as mayor of Davao, the city has received “118 awards, citations, and recognitions,” according to the Cebu mayor. In 2020, Davao City was named the Best City Police Office in the Philippines, and most recently, the DSWD named Davao the Best LGU implementing the Daycare Service, according to Garcia Frasco.

More than Walden Bello’s “lip service,” Garcia-Frasco feels that Sara’s efforts have resulted in the people of Davao living in peace and prosperity. At first, Inday Sara refused to remark on the matter.

“May reason ako but I do not want to say it to the public… It is an ongoing discussion with the team. We will come up with a statement… It is something personal and I do not want to say it publicly. As of the moment, there is no comment,” said Inday Sara at a press conference in Davao, Monday afternoon.
