PAGASA Says Trough of LPA to Affect PH Weather
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a low pressure area will bring scattered rainshowers over some parts of the country.
On Monday (February 28, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA’s trough will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Trough of Low Pressure Area will be affecting Mindanao while the Easterlies will be affecting Luzon and Visayas.
The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Northn Mindanao and Davao Region.
“Itong low pressure area na ito ay hindi natin inaasahan na lalapit pa or papasok sa ating Philippine area of responsibility,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
“Sa kasalukuyan po ay wala tayong nakataas na gale warning ngunit ibayong pag-iingat pa rin po para sa mga maglalayag sa mga dagat-baybayin po sa ating karagatan sapagkat magiging katamtaman hanggang maalon pa rin po ‘yung magiging kalagayan po ng mga dagat-baybayin ng ating bansa,” Castañeda added.
