Nigerian National Passes Away After Fighting Cops During Drug Buy-Bust Operation
A Nigerian nation has dies after having an encounter with the police authorities during a buy-bust operation.
Nowadays, the proliferation of illegal drugs has been one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in various countries all around the world. It causes a surge in the rate of criminality in the country.
The Philippine government and the police authorities have been imposing stricter policy to eradicate illegal drugs in the country but there are still some individuals who were making new strategies to proliferate illegal substances.
QCPD and the PNP drug enforcer group launched a drug buy-bust operation at Batasan, San Mateo road in Quezon City. The police authorities have an encounter with the Nigerian national.
According to the police personnel, the police asset who pretended as a buyer bought about a kilogram of illegal drugs. The suspects found out that the customers were cops, which leads to shootout.
“Consumated actually yung police operation and unfortunately, nung na sense ng mga suspek na pulis na pala yung ka transaksyon nila, dali-daling nag-eskapo yung kasamahan nitong namatay,” Batasan Police Station Commander Lt. Col. Alex Sonido.
The shootout between the police officers and the suspects lead to the death of the Nigerian suspect. The cops recovered about two kilogram of suspected drugs worth P13.6 million from the suspect.
PNP is still investigating the incident to identify and locate the supplier of illegal drugs. The cops also launched a follow-up operation to arrest the other suspects who were able to escape during the operation.
Aside from the illegal drugs, the policemen also recovered firearms from the culprits.
