Racer in Cagayan Drag Race that Injures 3 Spectators Face Charges
The police have formally filed criminal charges against a racer from an illegal drag race event in Cagayan that injured 3 spectators.
The police finally charged the suspected culprit in the contentious drag racing vehicle exhibition in San Jose, Baggao Cagayan. Renato Soriano, 42, a resident of Zone 4 in the same location, has been charged with Reckless Imprudence Caused by Multiple Slight Physical Injuries.

Soriano was driving a car with the registration plate UNN-912 in a race against a car with no license plate, which was his opponent. According to the report, it was owned by Karlo Christopher Lazaro, a 23-year-old San Jose Baggao resident.
The complaint against Soriano was filed at the Provincial Prosecutors Office in Tuguegarao through inquest processes. On the other side, Jay-ar Padilla, the car show’s organizer and the leader of the Baggao Lancer Elite Club (BLEC), reportedly paid for the treatment of Soriano’s three wounded and injured victims.
Rodel Vergara, 17, and Jomar were the three victims, according to the police report. Cuevas, 17, and Jaykim Pagaduan, 20, are also Assasi Baggao locals. Padilla is also accused of claiming responsibility for the repair of another car that Soriano crashed with and damaged.
It featured an elf with the registration plate CTZ-570 purportedly owned by Mayor Joan Dunuan, as well as a Princess Thomas’ automobile with the license plate WNH-438. Soriano was pitted against Christopher Lazaro, who was driving a vehicle without a license plate.
Mayor Joan Cabildo Dunuan has previously denied being associated with the contentious conduct. On the other side, Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba was the first to chastise the officials engaged in the event, saying that it should be probed if public officials or local government units were implicated in the three people’s injuries.
