Megan Young and Mikael Daez talked about their love story
Celebrity couple Megan Young and Mikael Daez revealed the reason why they chose not to tell their family, specifically their mothers that they were already engaged.
Megan and Mikael became a couple officially in 2010 but unlike many showbiz couples, they chose to be private about their love life. Back in 2020, the couple surprised the public when they announced that they already tied the knot.
They got engaged in 2017. In a recent interview on Toni Talks, Toni Gonzaga’s YouTube talk show, she asked Megan Young and Mikael Daez why it has been their conscious effort to keep their engagement a secret.
Megan shared that she and Mikael really talked about this and agreed that they will not tell their families. “Napag-usapan namin talaga na hindi sabihin sa family, specifically our moms dahil,” she said and Mikael continued her statement, “dahil pag nalaman ng mommy ko, pag nalaman ng mommy niya alam na ng buong mundo.”
“Alam na ng lahat,” Megan synched with her husband’s last line. The Miss World 2013 also shared that back then, there were unsure yet what kind of wedding they will have. They weren’t decided if they will choose an intimate wedding or an extravagant one.
In order to avoid stress, Megan said that they just opted not to tell anyone. The couple recalled that the announcement that they had after their wedding was like a summation of all the announcements that had to be done.
“All in one na siya,” Megan Young said. When asked if not divulging the details of their relationship to the public helped it to be a long-lasting one, the former beauty queen said it did because they did what they think would be best for their relationship.
