Christopher de Leon Finally Speaks Out on Lotlot and Ian’s Family Conflict
CHRISTOPHER DE LEON – Amid the ongoing rift between Lotlot and Ian de Leon, their father Christopher de Leon is hoping that reconciliation will eventually happen.
Veteran actor Christopher de Leon has spoken about the ongoing conflict between his children, Lotlot de Leon and Ian de Leon, following the death of their mother, Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor.
Christopher addressed the issue during an interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog, where he was asked about his thoughts on the disagreement between the siblings. For the first time, the veteran actor openly discussed his perspective on the family conflict, while emphasizing that he does not want to interfere in their personal affairs.

According to Christopher, he has already spoken with both Lotlot and Ian separately regarding the situation.
“Nakausap ko na silang dalawa, hiwalay,” said Christopher.
He explained that he deliberately chose not to get involved because the disagreement concerns their late mother and matters connected to a foundation and finances.
“Ayokong makialam, because ang pinag-aawayan nila is the mom, the mother and ang pinag-aawayan is a sort of foundation na involves [money matters]. Kapag ganyan, ayokong makialam.”
Christopher also recalled how he remained quiet and observant during Nora’s wake instead of getting involved in family matters. For him, problems within a family should ideally be addressed privately rather than becoming public discussions.
“Hindi ako yung showbiz na tatay. Nandito na ako sa stage ng buhay ko na, ‘Bakit ako tatalak? Bakit ako magsasalita ng mga bagay na ipapaalam ko sa lahat?’ Kung mayroon akong gustong sabihin, sasabihin ko yan sa yo nang diretso.”
He said he would personally tell each of his children if he believed one of them was wrong, but ultimately, they are old enough to handle their own disagreements.
Christopher remains hopeful that the siblings will eventually reconcile. He believes that the current tension is still too intense and that getting involved in the middle of the conflict could only make matters worse.
“Siguro one day, magkakaayos yan. Definitely, one day, magkakaayos yan. Hindi puwedeng hindi, at hindi ko rin naman papayagan na hindi magkaayos. By the grace of God, magkaroon ng reconciliation yung dalawa.”

The actor also admitted that he was surprised and hurt by the situation, particularly because Lotlot and Ian had been close since childhood.
“Ayon nga, yung pinagtataka ko, e. Doon ako nagugulat na bakit biglang nag-iba yung ihip ng hangin after the death of their mother.”
Despite the family dispute, Christopher said he has not given up on his children. He continues communicating with both of them and is taking steps to help ease the tension.
“Hindi ako sumuko. Hanggang ngayon kausap ko sila. Mayroon nga akong ginagawang hakbang para mag-ease up muna yung isa.”
Christopher ended by expressing hope that the family conflict will eventually be resolved.
“I’m not worried…Hopefully, maayos sooner, the better,” Christopher said.
