PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (February 16)

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the country will experience a fair weather condition.

On Wednesday (February 16, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area off Mindanao has completely dissipated.

PAGASA reported that the LPA outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility has been last spotted at 1,500 kilometers east of Mindanao. Its trough will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

The Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Central Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon.

The shear line is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Aurora and the northern portion of Quezon as well as Cagayan Valley.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and the rest of central Luzon.

The easterlies are expected to bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

“Kahapon mayroon tayong namataan na low pressure area ngunit tuluyan na po itong nalusaw, Kasalukuyan, maganda ang nararanasan nating panahon sa malaking bahagi ng bansa,” PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The coastal water condition over northern Luzon as well as eastern section of central and southern Luzon, of Visayas, and of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
