PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (February 17)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the country is expected to experience fair and slightly humid weather condition.
On Thursday (February 17, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The amihan and easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with light rains over Cagayan Valley. The easterlies will also bring loudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Caraga, Davao, and Northern Mindanao.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The Easterlies / localized thunderstorms would bring similar weather condition over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
However, most parts of the country would have fair and slightly humid weather condition with a chance of rain.
“Kasalukuyan maganda at maaliwalas na panahon ang nararanasan sa malaking bahagi ng bansa. Sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa, kasama ang Metro Manila, asahan natin ang medyo mainit na panahon ngayong araw,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
The weather agency also warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, eastern sections of central and southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
