Kapamilya couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez share hurt after they were barred to reveal their engagement.
VICE GANDA – In an emotional confession, Ion Perez and Vice Ganda shared they were barred to do a live proposal and announce the engagement, respectively.
Surely, the relationship of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez wasn’t all roses. They have encountered lots of rough patches. They were bashed left and right after they confirmed their relationship and the backlash has even led Ion to almost quit and leave the show. But he remained and proved to people that he’s not after Vice’s money by working hard.
And when he finally felt the urge that it was time to finally reach another milestone in their relationship, he asked permission from one of the heads to propose live. But he was barred. “Direk” did not allow him and Teddy Corpuz, one of the persons behind the proposal, shared that he really saw the pain when Ion did not get the permission to do his proposal the way he planned it to be.
“Kung alam niyo lang ‘yung pain noong nakita namin si Ion, noong pinagbawalanNakita ko si Ion, nakahiga doon. Excited kaming tatlo, e. Gusto niya dito mag-propose talaga sa ‘Showtime.’ Nakita ko ‘yung pain. Ramdam namin iyon kay Ion,” Corpuz said.

Vice then recalled that they were also asked by their management to not disclose their engagement back then. He did not elaborate on the specific request but he was hurt because of this. He was hurt because he felt like they were deprived of something they deserve.
Vice opened up, “Basta pinakiusapan kami na ‘Sa inyo na lang, wag na sabihin’ — ang hirap-hirap para sa aming dalawa. Parang deprived na deprived naman kami, parang sa ibang tao ang dali lang magmahalan tapos sa ‘min ang hirap.”
“Nakakapagpasaya naman ako ng iba kahit paano, bakit parang itong munting kasiyahan na ‘to, ang hirap-hirap ma-achieve?” he added.
And such an experience and given the current situation have given him reason to let go of his dream big wedding. He did not mind having a simple ceremony in Las Vegas just as long as he and Perez were together.
The wedding in Las Vegas was very spontaneous but for them, it felt liberating as it allowed them to do what they want right at that moment.
