VICE GANDA – Kapamilya superstar Vice Ganda and his partner Ion Perez finally shared the story about their engagement and “wedding”.
In a previous article, Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda expressed gratitude to people who expressed their support, love, and happiness to him after making an announcement. On Valentine’s Day, Vice grabbed the chance to reveal that he and Ion Perez shared together a commitment ceremony or a “wedding” as what it appears to most people.
It happened in Las Vegas and the top trending vlog where the announcement was made was called “What Really Happened in Vegas”. The ceremony was held at The Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas on October 19, 2021, and there was nothing grand about it. Everything was simple but very sincere.
And as they returned to Showtime, the noontime where their love story has started, they shared that they actually got engaged last February 2020, the time before the pandemic and the lockdowns happened. Vice and Ion returned to Showtime on Wednesday where their milestone was celebrated with performances from Yeng Constantino and Regine Velasquez.
In fear of being criticized by people who condemn their situation and by their bashers, Vice decided not to let the whole proposal video reach the internet. Such a very personal and private moment is something they both cherish and he doesn’t want other people to disrespect this very beautiful part of their relationship. This is why not a single photo or clip emerged online.
“Tama na ‘yung tayong dalawa lang ‘yung nakakaalam — malalaman ng ibang tao, babastusin lang nila, bababuyin, pagtatawanan, gagaguhin kaming dalawa — ayoko, masakit ‘yon para sakin kaya sabi ko sa ‘ming dalawa na lang,” he added.
And as for the wedding, everything happened in a very spontaneous manner. They were in Las Vegas when the decision suddenly just popped in Vice’s mind. They haven’t had any clothes to wear and rings to trade but nevertheless, it did not stop them from going on.
He just thought that he never wanted Ion’s proposal to go to waste. He wanted everything grand but given the current circumstances, he was forced to let go of it. And he has no complaints about having a simpler and smaller wedding.
He said, “Parang wala na akong pakialam. At this point, kahit walang tao, wala na ‘yung mga kaibigan ko, ang mahalaga na lang kami, andoon siya, andoon ako. Tapos sabihin na natin ‘yung gusto nating sabihin. ‘Yun lang.”
