After hosting the proclamation rally of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte last February 8, Toni Gonzaga got highly criticized. Many people were dismayed and disappointed over her choice of who to support and to who she will be sharing her fame and influence.
Her president is the dictator’s son. She also introduced to people and expressed support to Marcoleta, the staunch man behind the closure of her home network – the network that built her to be the influencer that she is today. In a previous article, after she announced that she is leaving Pinoy Big Brother as the main host after 16 years, a source revealed that she no longer has an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. And despite having none, in the past couple of years, it’s her choice to stay loyal but not until the campaign period started.
And just recently, amid the critical comments and backlash, the actress, who her fans claimed to be “unbothered”, shared a “Lion Mentality” motivational video on her Instagram. However, shortly after posting this, she took it down.
The video is about the “Lion Mentality” of a person. It describes that a person who has this kind of mentality is fearless, courageous, leading others instead of following, has certainty, has freedom, is protective, and competent.
A quote from the video says: “The greatest fear in the world is the opinion of others, and the moment you are unafraid of the crowd, you are no longer a sheep, you become a LION.
A great roar arises in your heart… the roar of freedom.”
