The loyalty of Toni Gonzaga to her home network is now being questioned
A source revealed something about the contract of actress-host Toni Gonzaga with ABS-CBN, her home network for almost two decades now.
However, a day after she hosted the proclamation rally of the UniTeam, Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte’s group, Toni officially announced that she resigned from her hosting in the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
She has been the only pioneer host of the show that continued her stint until the latest season. Toni has been hosting the said show for 16 years. Her resignation came after the bashing that she received because of her political stand.
Many Kapamilya fans were calling out to her saying that out of “delicadeza”, she should resign, and especially that she is now supporting one of UniTeam’s senatorial candidates Representative Rodante Marcoleta who was one of the lawmakers who pushed the shutting down of ABS-CBN.
Based on the article of entertainment columnist Jun Lalin in NewsKo, he asked an insider from the Kapamilya network if the resignation of Toni Gonzaga was just for the PBB, however, the said insider was not sure about this.
The entertainment columnist also said that there is a reliable source who revealed something about the contract of Toni with ABS-CBN and confirmed that the resignation of the actress was for the reality show only.
“Since the pandemic naman, walang exclusive contract si Toni sa ABS-CBN, pero nanatili siyang loyal as a Kapamilya!” Lalin shared what his source revealed.
Amid the bashing that Toni Gonzaga has been receiving these past few days, there were netizens who defended her and recalled the time when she chose to give her talent fee to displaced workers of ABS-CBN when the company shut down.
