Camp of Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Says Pres. Duterte Contracted COVID-19
BONGBONG MARCOS CAMP – The spokesperson of Marcos Jr., lawyer Vic Rodriguez, claimed that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte tested positive for COVID-19.
Previously, Malacañang revealed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was exposed to one of his household staff who tested positive for COVID-19. He was under quarantined and he also took the coronavirus test twice as to the Palace.
According to presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles, the 76-year-old President tested negative twice on the COVID-19 tests. He also finished his mandatory quarantine and has also visited a hospital for his regular check-up as advised by his doctor.
However, recently, the camp of former Senator Bongbong Marcos claimed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte tested positive for COVID-19. The claim came when Marcos Jr.’s spokesperson, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, was asked why the Chief Executive was not invited to attend the proclamation rally of the BBM-Sara UniTeam.
The BBM-Sara UniTeam proclamation rally was held at the Philippine Arena. Marcos Jr.’s running-mate is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, the vice-presidential bet of Lakas-CMD.
According to a report of ABS-CBN News, Rodriguez claimed that they were not able to reach out to Pres. Duterte because he allegedly just tested positive for COVID-19. Furthermore, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos’ spokesperson also stressed that they don’t want the Chief Executive to be involved in a political exercise and they are also mindful of the health and safety of the President.
Mayor Duterte was also present at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and also spoke to her supporters. She’s hopeful that Pres. Duterte will endorse her tandem with Marcos Jr. despite the 76-year-old Chief Executive’s previous tirades against the standard-bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
Pres. Duterte tagged Marcos Jr. as a “very weak leader” and a “spoiled” child for being an only son. He stressed that the father is different but he does not believe in the capabilities of the son.
