Sara Duterte has this recent statement about her father
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who is running for vice president, said that she is hoping for her father President Rodrigo Duterte’s endorsement of the UniTeam.
Being an outgoing President, the choice of the Chief Executive is somehow important for presidential aspirants. However, in a previous statement, PRRD said that he is not supporting any presidential bet “at this time”.
“I may [support one] in the end if my advice and endorsement would help — if needed. Bt at this time, I am saying I am not supporting anybody — unless there is a compelling reason really for me to change my mind and decide to support a candidate,” the President said, based on the report from Inquirer.
In a recent interview, Mayor Sara Duterte said that she is hoping that her tandem with former Senator Bongbong Marcos and the whole UniTeam will be endorsed by her father, based on the report from CNN Philippines.
“But of course he’s the president. He’s allowed to do kung ano gusto niya and we’ll respect his decision,” the vice-presidential said. On the other hand, Mayor Sara said that she has not been able to talk to her father yet. “But in time I expect we’ll see each other. If not, after the campaign. But during the campaign, may birthdays sa family during March and April. Baka magkita kami sa events na ‘yun,” she added.
In a previous report, Mayor Sara Duterte said that she is confident that Bongbong Marcos will not be disqualified. She is not even entertaining the thought that she might replace BBM if ever he will be disqualified.
During the proclamation rally of the UniTeam, in her speech, Mayor Sara Duterte called out to their supporters to “protect Bongbong Marcos”.
