Sara Duterte Confident that Bongbong Marcos Will Not Be Disqualified

Sara Duterte Claimed Bongbong Marcos Will Not Be Disqualified from Election

Vice Presidential aspirant Sara Duterte-Carpio is confident that presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr will not be disqualified from the election.

Sara Duterte, the former mayor of Davao City, stated in a statement that she is not considering replacing presidential nominee Rodrigo Duterte. Mayor Sara described the prospect of her taking Marcos’ position as “exceptionally nasty,” noting that none of them has yet won an election.

“Personally, I find talks about me ‘possibly replacing a President Bongbong Marcos exceptionally unpleasant as — in reality — both of us are yet to win the elections. It is putting the cart before the horse,” Duterte said.

“I am not entertaining the thoughts of a possible replacement as I also do not look forward to a scenario of a disqualified BBM — before or after the elections,” she added.

Duterte also feels that Marcos’ disqualification lawsuit before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is unfounded. It is said that this is a fiction by anti-Marcos forces that do not care whether the population is split in order to reclaim power.

“I maintain that the disqualification cases filed against BBM have no basis at all — orchestrated by anti-Marcos forces desperate to regain control of our country, never mind if they sow divisiveness among our people, never mind if they undermine our freedom, never mind if they make a mockery of our laws,” she said.

There are rumors that the disqualification case judgment would be postponed and disclosed after Marcos is declared the victor of the presidential election. Duterte will take his position, as has been revealed.

Duterte is running for vice president under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party, whereas Marcos is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas). They decided to run as a team and dubbed themselves “UniTeam.”
