JODI STA MARIA – ‘The Broken Marriage Vow’ actresses Jodi Sta Maria and Sue Ramirez have this intense scene that caught online attention.

‘The Broken Marriage Vow‘ will be airing soon on various platforms. This is the Philippines adaptation of South Korea’s record-breaking series The World of a Married Couple and BBC’s original hit Doctor Foster. Jodi Sta Maria will be playing Dr. Jill Ilustre, the main character.

Meanwhile, the actor who will play the cheating husband role is Zanjoe Marudo as David Ilustre. Actress Sue Ramirez will be Lexy Lucero, the mistress, and Zaijian Jaranilla as Gio Ilustre, David and Jill’s son. The story will be tackling how betrayal has broken a once happy family and the consequence of taking vengeance. It will also leave some marriage lessons to all married couples. The characters will surely give us vital lessons that we can apply in real life.

And in the series, after the official trailer has been released, one of the most talked-about scenes is the part where Sue’s character has given Jodi a “batok” in the head and she pulled it off in rage just fine. But in reality, Sue accordingly had some hesitation doing it. She believes the head is a very sensitive part and to hit someone right in there is something that’s tough for her to do even if it’s just for work.

But Jodi, being a professional actress, told Sue to do it and even pointed her to the part of her that she has to hit. Jodi assured her that she will be alright. The actress recalled in a virtual press conference Wednesday based on ABS-CBN report, “I was really hesitant to do it. I wanted na i-jerk. Kaya naman siguro naming i-acting na lang ni Ate Jodi e pero she told me na ‘Sue, gawin mo. Gawin mo talaga. Okay lang ako.’”

“Kailangan ko siya gawin kasi ginawa siya sa lahat ng versions ng ‘Doctor Foster.’ So bongga ‘yung eksena na ‘yun. Crucial siya. Nakuha namin in one take. Tinotoo talaga na batok. May alalay nang malala pero kinailangan talaga dumikit para maganda rin ‘yung pagkahulog ng ulo ni Ate Jodi,” she explained.
