Piolo Pascual talked about being an antagonist onscreen
Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual revealed the reason why he enjoyed portraying “kontrabida” characters.
Piolo has already proven his caliber when it comes to acting. Throughout the years, he has portrayed various roles on TV and in movies that showed his versatility. Aside from acting, he also ventured into hosting, recording, and producing films.
Indeed, Piolo has come a long way and he shared glimpses of his showbiz journey in the recent interview on Celeste Tuviera’s YouTube channel.
The A-list star has acted in theater before making it big on mainstream media. He considered his “kontrabida” stint in Marvin Agustin’s 1998 TV series Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako with Kristine Hermosa.
When asked if he doubted himself for that role, Piolo Pascual said that he enjoyed it. He also shared that he also did a “kontrabida” role in the series Esparanza of Judy Ann Santos before they became a love team partner.
“Mas na-enjoy ko siya kasi you got to be different, eh. And you know, I’m a nice person, I’m a nice dude, and when you do something like that, ah…,” the actor shared adding that this is the reason why he enjoyed the process.
Meanwhile, Piolo Pascual said that the movie Dekada ’70 really changed the trajectory of his life. He admitted that while shooting for the film, he thought of backing out because he felt intimidated as he had doubt on himself.
The A-list star revealed that he had sleepless nights because his scenes were really difficult. Thankfully, this stint turned out very well and he received recognition for his performance. It was previously revealed that Piolo’s role in the said movie was first offered to Jericho Rosales.
