‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,’ ‘Squid Game,’ and ‘Vincenzo’ win as Metro Best K-Drama 2021. Here are the other winners!
BEST K-DRAMA 2021 – Metro Best K-Drama Awards 2021 awarded the best K-Drama series last Wednesday (December 15).
“Vincenzo,” “Squid Game,” “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” “Start-Up,” “The Penthouse: War in Life,” “Yumi’s Cells,” and more South Korean series have captured many hearts this year. These series are not just all about love. The plots offer learnings in life, mental awareness, successes and failures, and many other things that will keep the viewers inspired. Most of the stories bring not just entertainment but also lessons that we will surely take with us our whole life.
Just like “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”, it made people realize that depression cannot be seen in the physical facade. It’s an internal war within a person and it takes so much understanding from someone to help that person move forward and get through that war inside their heads due to past traumas. “Squid Game” also taught us that gambling will never assure us a better life. It also showed us how our present actions will affect our future.
And just recently, Metro named the K-Dramas for this year. In the jury category, winners were selected by a panel of judges composed of Metro editors and experts while the winners in the People’s Choice categories were determined by Metro.Style readers.

- Most Stylish Female in a Drama: Kim Seo-hyung as Jung Seo-hyun in Mine
- Most Stylish Actor in a Drama: Song Joong-ki as Vincenzo Cassano in Vincenzo
- Best Action Scene: My Name
- Best Ensemble Cast: Hospital Playlist S2
- Best Production Design: Squid Game
- Best Miniseries: Squid Game
- Best Cameo: Gong Yoo (Squid Game)
- Best OST: Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
- Best Hair and Makeup: The Witch’s Diner
- Breakthrough Stars of the Year: Kim Seon-ho (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) and Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game)
