Here’s what John Lapus said about Donny Pangilinan
Comedian-director John Lapus shared that Kapamilya young actor Donny Pangilinan reminds him of actor Daniel Padilla.
John, also known as Sweet, has been in the industry for many years now and he has already seen the rise of many young actors and actresses. His recent movie stint is Love Is Color Blind that featured the love team of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PUSH, John Lapus shared that it would not be a surprise for him if eventually, Donny and Belle, just like the love teams KimXi, KathNiel, and LizQuen, will end up together in real life.
“Hindi ako nagtataka na yun ang mangyayari sa DonBelle with their magic on and off camera. Marami akong behind the scenes na nakunan sa kanilang dalawa na i-va-vlog ko (laughs),” the famous comedian said.
He also revealed that he saw in Donny the good trait that he saw in Daniel. John was able to work with Daniel and his reel and real-life partner Kathryn Bernardo in their first movie.
The comedian said that he feels like younger artists whose parents are also in showbiz have taught them to be “mabait”. “Lahat ata ng mga artista na ang parent ay artista rin, talagang bini-briefing sila ng mga parents nila na artista. Kasi talagang napakabait na bata, simpatico, unang bumabati sa senior actors. Alam mong na-train mabuti ng mga magulang na artista din. Ganyang ganyan si Daniel eh,” he said.
John Lapus also commended Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano as a love team for having that certain magic in them but the comedian-director stressed that he liked them also individually.
He also praised Belle who started her career at a young age. John pointed out that it is not easy to be a child star as this requires being “masipag” and he has seen this in Belle. “Napaka-sweet na bata. I could testify kasi nga ako yung lagi niyang ka-eksena. Napakahusay niya and she’ll go places. Hindi ako magtataka na magkaroon siya ng best actress award in the future. Malalim yung acting niya,” John said about the young actress.
