Korina Sanchez revealed that she planned to enter the political arena
Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez admitted that she has long planned to enter politics but has always been held back.
Korina has been in the broadcast industry for several decades already. Aside from being a news reporter/anchor, she also became a TV host. In a recent interview, Korina revealed that there is another field that she also wanted to be in.
During the TV5 media conference for her program Face to Face with Ate Koring, based on the article Pilipino Star Ngayon, she mentioned that many people have long been urging her to run for office.
Korina Sanchez admitted that politics has entered her mind. “Actually, matagal na akong may plano, dati-dati pa. Napipigilan parati, palagay ko, mapipigilan na naman ngayon,” she shared.
Someone did tell her that she was leading in the senatorial survey, and the veteran journalist laughingly remarked, “Hindi naman, grabe ka naman.”
However, her husband, former Senator Mar Roxas, reportedly has no desire to return to politics. He has allegedly received offers, but for now, it is not part of his plans.
“Ang alam ko, ayaw na niya talaga. Gusto niya ng public service, but it has to be the right position. Maybe I guess, the positions being offered to him are ‘been there, done that,’ you know,” Korina revealed.
In the same interview, Korina laughed when asked if she had already met with Sen. Lito Lapid.
“Hindi pa, baka ayaw niya mag-guest dahil sa ano (mga sinabi niya). Bakit, hindi ko naman siya talaga nakikita,” she said. However, she praised the Senator’s silence because she pointed out that less talk, less mistake.
Then, the journalist stressed that she is actually friends with Senator Lapid. “Sabi nga niya sa mga boss ko, ‘uy, sabihin mo kay Korina, nanalo ako, ha?’” Korina added.
It will be recalled that the veteran broadcaster’s remarks regarding Sen. Lito on the news program Agenda back in December 2025 went viral and became a topic of conversation when she said, “nanalo pala siya? Hindi ko napapansin, sa totoo lang. ”
