The movie of Daniel Padilla is part of this year’s MMFF
Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla shared his reaction upon knowing that his movie Kun Maupay It Panahon (Whether the Weather Is Fine) is included in the official list of entries for Metro Manila Film Festival 2021.
It was in January last year when news circulated that the blockbuster movie actor is doing a movie with seasoned actress Charo Santos. The said movie that is about the devastating typhoon Yolanda has already been part of film festivals abroad.
It has received good reviews from movie critics. This year, Filipino moviegoers will have the chance to watch this as it was named as one of the MMFF movie entries. Based on the article in Bandera, Daniel Padilla admitted during a recent interview that he was surprised by this.
“Nagulat din ako (nakasali sa MMFF). Hindi ko rin masyado inasahan na makakapasok pa kami. Well I think ito na siguro yung tamang timing din na mapanuod natin yung pelikula kasi siyempre nakaikot na din siya abroad sa iba’t ibang film festivals,” the actor said.
He added that the inclusion of their movie in the MMFF means that Pinoys will have the chance to appreciate this also as how it was appreciated abroad. .”Eh dapat lang natin mapanood na dahil atin yung pelikula na ito, sa atin nanggaling, sa atin nangyari, sa atin nagmula,” he said.
Daniel Padilla is also excited to show this to Filipino moviegoers as it is something different but in a beautiful way. He stressed that this movie offers a lot and he is not saying this because he is part of the movie. “Kahit alisin niyo na ako sa visuals ninyo,” the actor said.
He also shared that he realized that filmmaking in the Philippines can still go farther than what the industry has been doing now.
