This decision of the Senator to withdraw has garnered various reactions from his fellow politicians. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte who is running for vice president under the leadership of former Senator Bongbong Marcos said that this decision of Go will hopefully lead to the unification that they are aiming for.

Presidential aspirants Senator Manny Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said that they would gladly accept if President Rodrigo will give his endorsement after Bong Go withdrew.

In a recent report from DZRH News, Go asked his supporters not to conduct campaign activities anymore. When he filed his COC for president, campaign materials were already posted in different parts of the country.

The Senator also told his supporters to refrain from gathering near Comelec as safety protocols are still needed to be observed. He reiterated that he has already decided to withdraw and this decision will not be changed and should not be doubted.

On why he is still not withdrawing his candidacy officially, Bong Go pointed out that under Comelec’s rule, he can still withdraw until May 9 next year. While he has not yet officially withdrawn his candidacy, he is making his supporters understand why he came up with this decision.

As of this writing, the Chief Executive has not announced yet if who among the presidential candidates he will support in the 2022 elections.
