What will be the next political move of Senator Bong Go?

The recent cryptic statement of Senator Bong Go regarding his presidential candidacy raised speculations that he will be withdrawing his candidacy but Partido ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) adviser Butch Belgica has a contradicting opinion.

Initially, the senator filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president under PDP-Laban but weeks later, he withdrew and filed for substitution for the position of the president under PDDS. The two parties are connected and they have the support of President Rodrigo Duterte.

However, these past days, the statement of Bong Go saying that he is still trying to grasp the idea of running for the highest political position. On Thursday, November 25, he released a statement saying that he thinks this is not his time and that he is willing to do the “supreme sacrifice”.

Because of this, many believed that he is foreshadowing his withdrawal as he has not directly stated what would be his next possible move. In a recent report from DZRH, PDDS adviser Butch Belgica, on the other hand, said that he believes Senator Bong Go will not back out of the game.

Belgica said that the Senator has no plan to withdraw and that the parties PDP Laban and PDDS, along with all their alliances will continue to work for the success of the presidential candidacy of Go.

Meanwhile, in a press conference on Friday, November 26, Belgica said that PDDS is formally announcing that the party is endorsing the tandem of Bong Go and Sara Dutrerte as the vice president that they are supporting for the 2022 elections.
