President Duterte Slams Senator Richard Gordon Over Government Funds Anomaly
President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Senator Richard Gordon anew and called him “nagmamarunong” over alleged anomaly on the government funds.
Gordon felt the heat from President Duterte again after criticizing him during his “Talk to the People,” in which the president criticized the government’s P86 million bill for the senator based on the Supreme Court-approved notice of disallowance of the Commission on Audit (COA).

According to him, the senator has been in arrears for numerous years and has yet to return the monies to the government. Duterte also praised himself for his performance at the Senate proceedings.
“The decision has become final and executory six years ago. Four years? Hanggang ngayon hindi pa niya nabayaran. Gordon na ito. Tapos kung magdaldal akala mo lahat ng… ila-live mo kasi para marinig. Mas magpakamarunong pa,” said the president.
Duterte claimed that he wanted the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Secretary Arthur Tugade, to run for the Senate so that he could educate people who aren’t well-versed in the law, but Tugade declined. President Duterte also referred to the Senate’s legal counsel as “bugok.”
“Eh kung si Tugade ka kasi iyon ang valedictorian namin sa law school, oh eh mas ok pa. Kaya patakbuhin ko sana senador para lecturan the finer points of law. Iyong legal counsel nila diyan bugok,” the president added.
Recently, Gordon turned the tables on Duterte as the lawmaker cited the chief executive’s “admission” to alleged corruption in 2017. Gordon recalls what Duterte said on June 28, 2017, at the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association: “I hate corruption. Hindi ako nagmamalinis. Marami rin akong nanakaw pero naubos na”
