Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to the people during his visit to the CARAGA region, Sen. Manny Pacquiao expressed that the Philippines should fight for its rights over the West Philippine Sea but in a diplomatic way. According to him, the country cannot match China in a fight but problems can be resolved in peace talks.

In case China would attempt to enter the Philippines, the boxer-turned-senator expressed that the Philippines should not allow it and must do everything for the country.

Sen. Pacquiao confirmed his desire to run for president a few days before the period set by the Commission on Election (Comelec) for the filing of candidacy for Election 2022. Shortly after it, he announced his retirement from boxing.

The Senator who’s already known with his helping hand to people stressed that he can help more people if he wins president because the government has a bigger budget compared to his personal wealth. He is running with former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.
