LeBron James Tries to Apologize to Isaiah Stewart After Brawl During Game
Los Angels Lakers All-Star basketball player LeBron James tries to contact Detroit Piston player Isaiah Stewart after their brawl.
According to the Lakers forward, he attempted to get the phone number so that he could apologize to the Pistons center for smacking him in the face with an errant swinging arm during Sunday’s game. LeBron accidently smacked Stewart in the face during a free throw rebound scramble, causing a tiny gash to his right eye.

The incident enraged Stewart, who was bloodied, and both players were dismissed from the game in Detroit, which the Lakers won 121-116. The league is considering imposing further punishments on the players.
“I’m told LeBron James did try to track down Isaiah Stewart’s number post-game to apologize to Stewart again and let him know it was an inadvertent hit to his face,” Athletic reporter Shams Charania said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Stewart will lose roughly $45,000 in income, while James will lose about $284,000 in salary. James, a four-time NBA champion, is in his 19th NBA season and has only been ejected once in his career, against the Miami Heat in November 2017.
The league has previously fined James for everything from flopping to missing news conferences to throwing a water bottle. Meanwhile, Dwane Casey, the Pistons’ head coach, said Stewart, 20, had eight stitches and hoped he would not be penalized for repeatedly attempting to contact James after the altercation.
