Man Accused of Abusing 13-Year-Old Cousin Arrested by Sta. Mesa Police

The Sta. Mesa Police arrested a man for allegedly abusing his 13-year-old cousin.

A certain man from Sta. Mesa, Manila peacefully surrendered to Sta. Mesa Police who served a warrant of arrest last Thursday (November 18, 2021). He just came from arraignment and expected his arrest at any time.

The court ordered the arrest of the unnamed suspect over charges of rape and child abuse. Sta. Mesa Police chief P/LT. COL. Jonathan Rongavilla said that the suspect failed to find a chance to hide due to their immediate respond.

The 13-year-old victim revealed that her heartless cousin repeatedly abused her for a couple of times.

“Ngayon ko lang po ivo-voice out yung sarili ko lalo na po sa mga katulad po ng nangyari sakin, sa mga nasa korte ngayon lakasan niyo loob niyo at saka wag kayong magpapatalo kasi mananalo rin tayo,” the victim said.

Unfortunately, the suspect denied the accusations against and explained that he could not do such thing especially to his own relative. He also reiterated that no one would listen to his explanation and the victim’s family has a grudge against him.

“Hindi ko po kayang gawin yun kasi kahit anong sabihin ko wala pong maniniwala sakin kasi nandito po ako sa posisyon ko e, alam ko po malaki yung galit nila sakin at sa mga magulang ko po,” the accused said.
