Will Bong Go cancel his candidacy for vice president?

Later that day, in his speech in Antipolo City, Go appeared to have hinted about the change that will happen in his candidacy. He is running for vice president under the ruling party PDP-Laban.

He said that he is hoping for the best even though there were speculations that he and Mayor Sara might be running against each other in the same position. In a report from One News, the Senator said that he is still waiting for the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte as he does not want to speculate about the plan of the Duterte family.

Go is one of the loyal allies of President Duterte. “First of all, I love President Duterte very much. I am indebted to him, and the indebtedness carries weight for us Visayans. That’s something I learned from him, and I don’t want to give him a heavy heart over politics,” the loyal ally of the President said.

Amid Sara Duterte’s candidacy withdrawal, speculations also surfaced that Bong Go might cancel his candidacy to give way for the presidential daughter. However, based on a recent update from News5 reporter Marie Ann Los Banos, the lawmaker strongly opposed the speculations about his vice presidential candidacy.

Not true. Abangan na lang mga susunod na araw. Kandidato po ako as VP 40 days na,” the Senator said.
