4Ps Beneficiaries More Open To Getting Vaccinated

4Ps Beneficiaries More Open To Get COVID-19 Vaccine

4PS BENEFICIARIES – More beneficiaries from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are open to getting inoculated against COVID-19.

According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), this follows some government officials withholding the monthly subsidies of those who aren’t vaccinated.

Previously, a large percentage of beneficiaries had fears regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Assistant Secretary Glenda Relova cited a survey the DSWD conducted regarding vaccine trust among the 4ps.

However, she cited that the fears had been addressed during discussions and meetings with the members. Based on an article from ABS-CBN, she said:

Prior to our vaccination program, meron talagang ano, hesitancy and fears ang ating mga benepisyaryo. Ito ay napag-alaman namin based on the survey namin bago tayo nagkaroon ng bakuna

Additionally, she said that 4Ps have now been well-informed about the vaccines through family development sessions. Moreover, printed materials from the DOH also helped.

Currently, beneficiaries of 4ps belong to the A5 category. Meanwhile, rolling out of their vaccines to the A5 sector is starting to ramp up.

So aming yung mga information and campaign materials regarding the vaccination program, sinagot ang kanilang mga fears, ang kanilang mga hesitation, and currently, na-dispell na ito and they are very much willing na ibigay ang kanilang informed consent para sila ay mabakunahan.

Lastly, Relova added that the benefits given to beneficiaries of the 4Ps have specific provisions under Section 11 of Republic Act 11310. She said there are conditions that need to be met for them to receive it.

But, once all of these are met, the DSWD would give back the subsidy and the vaccine are not part of the condition for the 4Ps.
